Agua Pura Student Up For Clinton Global Global Initiative Prize
Ana Blandon, student at MHCC[/caption]One of our Mt. Hood Community College students, Ana Blandon, is in the running to win the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGIU) Commitment to Action Challenge for her recycling and waste reduction project.
Ana is a Scholarships for Education and Economic Development (SEED) Program student at Mt. Hood, and has been studying Environmental Technology here since August 2013. Her Commitment to Action was selected by former President Bill Clinton and other panelists among 1,000 projects in education, environment and climate change, peace and human rights, poverty alleviation, and public health. Ana was selected for the top 32 last week and now she is in the Quarter Finals and needs your help!
Ana comes from a small community in Nicaragua and this is a HUGE opportunity for her to gain recognition for her initiative, raise funds for her project and also put MHCC, SEED and the Gresham/Portland area on the map for positive global/environmental development!

Whatever the outcome of the competition, all donated funds go to Ana to help her complete her project.
What I like about it is that she is up against college students from big expensive schools with lots of supporters and yet she has made it to the finals solely on the strength of her proposal! GOOD LUCK ANA!
